Abstract

472,414. Moulding plaster &c. casts of feet &c. COMYNS, W. F., and CHAPMAN, G. S. April 3, 1936, No. 9890. [Class 87 (ii)] A device for producing a mould from a foot or other part of the body, for use in making a plaster or other cast, comprises a body of plastic material 2 covered by a thin extensible and elastic skin 4, and adapted temporarily to assume the impression of the foot. The skin 4 may be a rubber sheet. The material 2 may be china clay moistened with glycerine and is contained in a tray 1 between which and a frame 5 the skin 4 is clamped. A thin sheet of warmed moulding material 8, such as dental moulding wax, may be superimposed on the skin 4. The flat surface of the material 2 may be restored by rolling or by providing the tray with a lid having a downwardly-projecting plunger plate.
