Abstract

753,646. Gravity-separation apparatus. NATIONAL RESEARCH COUNCIL. Dec. 10, 1954 [Jan. 5, 1954], No. 35888/54. Class 46. Gravity-separation apparatus for removing solid or liquid particles from a liquid suspension thereof comprises a container 9 having parallel rectangular side walls 10, 10a inclined from the horizontal between 40 and 60 degrees, a plurality of spaced baffles 15 parallel to said inclined walls forming classification compartments within the container, top and bottom outlets 14, 13 for light and heavy separated components and a suspension feed duct 11 having upwardlydirected outlets 17 located on the underside of each baffle 15. The outlets 17 are provided in branch ducts 16 of the feed duct 11.
