A composite flooring block comprises parquet boards 1 secured to a backing B of spaced wood strips 2 between which is agglomerated fibre 3. The block may be provided with a further backing of wood strips and fibre, an insulating board, or two wood strips adjacent two opposite edges. The board may be formed with one or two peripheral grooves 4. The backing may be slightly tapered towards its rear face.
