Abstract

752,819. Circlips. TIMKEN ROLLER BEARING CO. March 9, 1954 [April 22, 1953], No. 6817/54. Class 89 (2). [Also in Group XXXIV] A cover 12 is detachably secured to a bearing- housing 11 by a locking-ring 24 of pliable material. The ring 24 engages a recess 15 in the inner surface of a housing-flange 13 and obstructs outward movement of a flange 17 on the cover 12. A tool 26 inserted in an aperture 25 in the flange 13 facilitates removal of the ring 24. Alternatively the cover 12 is removed by a screw 30. The member 24 also forms a seal and is preferably made of synthetic rubber.
