Abstract

751,787. Lifting jacks. TURNBULL, J. J. March 10, 1954, No. 6921/54. Class 78 (3). The independent suspensions at both sides of a vehicle are simultaneously engaged by a dual lift device adapted for attachment to a lifting jack 11 and consisting of a central rest member 10 carrying a pair of adjustable arms 12 which engage the independent suspensions. As shown, each of the arms 12 is provided on opposite sides with a pair of hollow brackets 13, 14, one being higher than the other, to receive slidably the arms of the rest member 10 at different elevations. Each arm 12 is supported and locked in adjusted position on member 10 by a pin (not shown) in one or other of brackets 15 at opposite sides of arm 12 which is engaged in one of a series of holes 18 in member 10. Ends 19 are transversely elongated and each includes a locating lug 20 at one side. Additional end members 21, Fig. 3, can be placed by means of slot 24 over arms 12 with the projecting shanks of headed bolts 22, 23 resting in recesses in member 19 to raise the height of these members further. Each member 21 has a second pair of bolts 25, 26 projecting from its other side at a different level so that by reversing members 21 the increase of height may be changed.
