Abstract
750,986. Refrigerating; heat pumps. BRENTFORD ELECTRIC, Ltd. Oct. 15, 1954, No. 29791/54. Class 29. In a heat pump in which the condenser 12 of a compression refrigerating system is located within the storage tank 3 of a water heating system, the motor compressor unit 13, 14 is mounted in an oil-filled heat-conducting casing 15 depending into the tank 3 and the electric leads 18 to the motor 13 are led out through the top of the casing so that they do not pass through the water in the tank. The evaporator is mounted above the tank and forms the sides 5a, 5c, the back 5d and the top 5b of a refrigerated chamber. The sides 5a, 5c are protected by grilles 4 through which ambient air has free access to the evaporator to supply heat to the heat pump. The turns of the coil evaporators 5a, 5c contact so as to form closed walls. An additional evaporator section 11 depends into the refrigerated chamber to cool ice-trays 10. Specification 750,971 is referred to.
