Abstract

750,673. Rotary pumps. SOC. DU CARBURATEUR ZENITH. June 22, 1954 [June 26, 1953], No. 18311/54. Addition to 722,667. Class 110(2) A gear pump as in the parent Specification wherein the piston regulating the cross-section of the internal by-pass is controlled by a flexible diaphragm 24 closing a pressure chamber 25 connected to the pump delivery chamber 15 through a passage 29 of small cross-section. A chamber 34 is connected to the atmosphere or any other reference pressure through a passage 35. A spring 26, adjustable by means of a screw 27, presses the diaphragm 24 to cause the piston 23 to close the by-pass 22, 21. A valve 31 connecting the pump inlet chamber 14 to the pressure chamber 25 facilitates priming with the use of an auxiliary pump in the intake pipe.
