[Also in Group XV] An arrangement for prompting a person before a motion picture or television camera comprises an inclined transparent mirror in front of the camera and means for supporting an object, such as a script, out of the camera field so that an image of it, formed by the mirror, is visible to the person in the direction of the camera axis. In the form shown a housing 13 contains an inclined glass plate or partially reflecting mirror 19 and a mirror 27: its walls have apertures 15, 16 by which light from the subject P reaches the camera 10, and an aperture 26 through which the subject sees the script in the compartment 23, illuminated by lamps 30, by reflection in the mirrors. To avoid multiple reflections the mirror 27 is front silvered and the plate 19 may be made very thin or provided with a low reflection coating on one face. A flexible light shield 28 connects the housing 13 with the turret 11 of the camera 10. The apparatus may be mounted on the camera, as by a bracket 14, or may be separately mounted. In another form the mirror 27 is dispensed with, the script 22 being mounted parallel to the camera axis. This arrangement requires a laterally reversed script.
