Abstract

750,596. Smokers' ash-trays. FREY, K., RUST, E., and BERG, E., [trading as DEHYLE SILBERWARENFABRIK, GEB.]. Nov. 11, 1954 [April 24, 1954], No. 32685/54. Class 130. The removable top 1 of an ash-tray 2 has an inlet opening covered by members 9, 10 having extensions 9<SP>1</SP>, 10<SP>1</SP> which when pressed together uncover the inlet opening by rocking the members apart about an eccentrically disposed pivot 5 against the action of a torsion spring 11. The members 9, 10 are wiped over on movement apart by the downwardly-directed edge of the inlet opening, which has an outwardly-directed flange locating in bent-over edges 14 of the members when together. The spring 11 is housed between the pivot 5, end flanges thereof, and two axially superposed bearing sleeves 7 respectively having lugs 7<SP>1</SP>, 8<SP>1</SP> welded &c. to the members 9, 10. The top 1 has a bayonet connection with the ash-tray 2.
