Abstract

750,551. Spectacle frames. GARSON, M., and CHAPPELL, N. W. June 23, 1954 [April 29, 1954], No. 12515/54. Class 97 (1). A pair of spectacles comprising a frame, or equivalent lens-supporting structure with two lenses mounted therein is combined with one or more decorative trims or attachment pieces removably secured to the spectacles by means of pins outstanding from the spectacles and engaging with the peripheral edge of the or each attachment piece. As shown a decorative trim 24, shaped to suit the upper part of the frame to which it is to be attached, has slots 28, 29 respectively engaging pins 22, 19 outstanding from the spectacle frame, one trim 24 being provided to cover each rim of the spectacles. The pins may carry ornamental heads, the pins 22 being connected to a single ornamental plate 23. Alternatively each of the pins 19, 22 may be replaced by two spaced pins between which are located tongues carried by the trim 24. Alternatively the trims may carry hooks engaging the pins. A single attachment piece extending across the spectacle frame may be provided. The attachment piece may be a shield, screen or filter overlying the lenses, or each lens of the spectacles or may carry auxiliary lenses for use with the spectacle lenses. The decorative trims may be carried by the side arms of the spectacles.
