749,603. Counting-apparatus. LANDIS & GYR AKT.-GES. June 10, 1953 [June 11, 1952], No. 16016/53. Class 106 (1). The counting train of an electricity meter is constructed with all its spindles disposed vertically, the numeral drums 5-8 are formed of light metal foil 0.2 to 0.3 mm. thick and specific gravity 2.4 to 2.6, and the tens transfer means are of similar sheet metal 0.4 to 0.6 mm. thick. As shown, the transfer means comprise a disc 13 on each drum spindle 4 formed with two upturned teeth 17 flanking a notch 18. These teeth cause intermittent rotation of a wheel 14 on an intermediate spindle 12, an adjacent wheel 15, with double the tooth spacing, locking against the rim of the disc except at the notch 18. The wheel 14 drives a wheel 16 on the spindle 4 of the next higher numeral drum.
