Abstract
748,348. Endless conveyers. GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA, and DOMMANN, G. April 2, 1953, No. 9260/53. Class 78 (1). In a conveyer in which an endless retarding- disc chain travels in a trough-shaped channel along its conveying run and returns through a tube arranged alongside the channel, the channel and tube being built up of sections, adjacent sections overlap one another in one direction or the other over the width of the channel and over the upper part of the tube, whilst they abut one another over the lower part of the tube. As shown, the conveyer channel 10 and tube 15 are formed by bending a single plate and weld its one edge by a seam 14 to the part forming the channel 10. The ends of adjacent sections overlap one another over the parts corresponding to the channel 10 and the upper part 13 of the tube 15 and abut one another over the lower part of the tube 15 as shown in Fig. 2. The edges 16 of the abutting lower parts are rounded. A cut-out portion 19 receives the end edge of the upper half of the adjacent section which fits within the upper half of the section shown.
