747,522. Toothed gearing. HILL, M. F., and HILL, F. A. Jan. 11, 1954, No. 777/54. Class 80(1) In a pair of intermeshing gears 1 , 2, Fig. II, one having external teeth and the other internal the numbers of the teeth are based upon a fractional ratio having a difference of one such as 2¢ : 3¢, 3¢ : 4¢ &c., so that each tooth of one gear successively engages all the teeth of the other. The contour of the teeth is generated from a circroid CR, Fig. IV, traced by a point OOO on a radicroid R of the ratio circle B rolling on the ratio circle A. In Fig. V a tooth contour MAMB is generated by a radius M from instantaneous centres along the circroid CR. A suitable portion of this contour is selected as the shape of a tooth of either gear from which the tooth contour of the other gear can be generated.
