Abstract
746,949. Silencinggaseous currents. TAYLOR & SONS, Ltd.. S. T. March 1, 1954 [Dec. 5,1952], No. 30912/52. Class 7(2) [Also in Group XXXVIIH Noise in an air duct is absorbed by units suspended within the duct with their axes parallel to the walls. A suitable unit (see Group XXXVIII) comprises a closed container formed by a perforated shell 20 and a lining 26 of mineral wool, glass fibre or asbestos fibre. The absorbing material is held by a inner liner 25 of netting, perforated sheet or fibre board. The unti may be formed with a blunt leading edge and a fine trailing edge so as to avoid turbulence in the duct.
