Abstract

746,622. Pulse generating circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Feb. 12, 1954 [Feb. 19, 1953], No. 4194/54. Class 40 (6). The pulse repetition frequency of a multivibrator is stabilized by incorporating in its circuit a resonant circuit which is tuned to the pulse repetition frequency and is connected between their anodes via impedances which ensure that the circuit is loosely coupled to the valves. The Figure shows a multivibrator comprising cross-coupled triode valves VA, VA<SP>1</SP>, the anode circuits of which are loosely coupled via resistors R3, R4, which are of unequal value, to a parallel tuned circuit LC2. The circuit LC2 is tuned to the pulse repetition frequency of the multivibrator, the output from which may be taken from the cathode circuit of valve VA<SP>1</SP>. The circuit may be synchronized by negative pulses applied to the grid of valve VA the voltage swing of which is limited by the rectifier networks R8, RE1 and R9, R2 so that it cannot exceed the fixed cathode bias of the valve or go below the cut-off value.
