Abstract
746,296. Carrying conductors through partitions; mounting terminals. LECLANCHE SOC. ANON. Feb. 3, 1954 [Feb. 5, 1953], No. 3194/54. Classes 36 and 38 (1). A small wire 5 is led through an opening 2 in a conductive wall 1 by means of a perforated synthetic jewel 3, of the order of size of a watch bearing jewel, inserted in or overlying the opening 2. The upper surface of the jewel may be formed with a dished recess 7 surrounding the perforation 4, in which a terminating sphere 6 on wire 5 is seated, the intervening spaces being hermetically sealed by an insulating sealing material 8 which may also extend over the surfaces of the jewel and the mounting edge 9 of the wall. In an alternative arrangement the wall may have an indentation in the bottom of which is an outlet, the perforated jewel being embedded in the indentation by means of sealing material. A lead-through wire passes through the outlet and the perforation, the spaces being filled with sealing material as above.
