Abstract

746,246. Clothes pegs. CARR, G. W. July 3, 1954, No. 19564/54. Class 44. A clip e.g. for use as a clothes peg comprises a body piece formed with a longitudinal hole 2 and with an inclined or helical slot 3 extending from the periphery of the body piece 1 to the hole. The width of the slot is less than that of the hole so that clothing folded over a line is firmly held.with the line in the hole and the hanging portions of the clothing in and gripped by the inclination of the slot. The ends of the hole are flared and the hole is formed eccentrically so that the slot tends to face downwardly to prevent the entry of dust. The body piece is formed of wood, rubber or plastic and has ridges 5 to provide a grip.
