Abstract

745,543. Swash-plate pumps. PAVESI, F. April 27, 1953 [May 13, 1952], No. 11507/53. Class 102(1). [Also in Group XXIX] In a differential hydraulic coupling a pumping group 15 and a motor group 13 are coupled to an input shaft 2. Each cylinder is connectable to an annular pressure duct 26 or an annular duct 27 27 connected to a reservoir formed within the pumping and motor groups, by means of radially disposed cylindrical valves 24 actuated in one direction by eccentrics 38, 45 and in the other direction by rings 42, 47 which are free to rotate around the axis of the eccentrics. The pistons 3 of the motor engage a fixed inclination swash plate 5 keyed to the output shaft 1 and the pistons 4 of the pump engage a variable inclination swash plate 6 pivoted on the fixed casing of the coupling. In mid-position of the swash plate 6 the shafts 1, 2 run at equal speeds ; inclination on opposite sides causes the shaft 1 to run faster and slower respectively than the shaft 2. In a modification the arrangement is such that the input shaft and the ouput shaft are at the same end as the fixed swash plate and the variable swash plate respectively.
