745,289. Punching. GEIER-WERKE GES. Dec. 3, 1952, No. 30642/52. Class 83 (4). A machine for punching blanks from sheet metal has a double-armed pivoted beam 4, 6 oscillated about its pivot 3 by a drive applied to one arm 4 thereof and the other arm 6 operates one of a pair of platens 31, 32, Fig. 3, hinged together at 35, which platens carry the punching tools or dies. The beam is driven by an eccentric 7 through a latch 9 and disengageable pawl 10. A stop screw 13 limits the oscillating movement of the beam. The lower platen 32 carries a fixed die 40 co-operating with a moving tool 38 carried by the upper platen 31. The hinge 35 permits lateral adjustment of the upper and lower dies.
