Cutting-out apparatus.-In cutting out from shoe-part stock, an additional sheet of such stock is used as a cutting-bed, the latter in turn being used for cutting out the required parts therefrom and replaced by a further bed-forming sheet. A series of sheets of stock are preferably perforated to engage positioning-pins 20 on a slidablymounted support 6 secured in an adjustable position under a die 8 by a spring latch 16. The die 8 is carried by a slide 28 adapted to be traversed step by step in a vertically reciprocable crosshead 22. This adjustment of the slide 28 is effected from a hand-lever 36 adapted to engage a series of gauging-notches 42, 43 in an interchangeable bar 40 carried by the cross-head. The series of blanks b, d, Fig. 2, are cut alternately, the die being reversible in its holder to enable this to be effected. The machine may be adjusted to cut through one or more sheets of stock at a single operation provided that one incompletely cut sheet remains as a cutting-bed for the operation. The cut-out blanks pass upwards through the die and are received by a magazine 44. The positioning-pins 20 may be dispensed with where great accuracy of cut is not essential.
