Abstract
744,521. Straps and bands, end securing means. BOYCE, R. D. July 13, 1951 [July 21, 1950], No. 18319/50. Class 109. [Also in Groups I and XVII] A tie band comprises a length of tape 10, Fig. 7, provided at each end with an area covered with a tacky adhesive 11 protected by a layer of material 12 extending beyond the adhesive surface. The adhesive areas may be on the same or opposite sides of the tape. The tape may be provided with a slit 14 to facilitate the formation of a loop for use in horticulture, Fig. 8. The adhesive may be a rubber-based compound and the protective material 12 may be impregnated linen or cellulose acetate. In a modification, the adhesive areas may be provided with a single protective strip, Fig. 4.
