Class 94(i) Means for protecting a flange 2 or like disc shaped body comprises a disc 4. of strong material which is placed on the flange to be protected and covers substantially the whole surface area of the flange, and a flexible metallic strip 5 provided with a continuous series of perforations 8, the ends of said strip covering each other to such an extent that at least two perforations are in register for accommodating at least one connecting member 9, the width of said strip not exceeding the thickness of the flange and the strip having projections at both of its longitudinal edges, the projections 6 at one of the edges of the strip being bent against the disc 4 covering the flange and the projections 7 at the other edge of the strip being bent against the opposite face of the flange. The projections 6 may be formed as triangular teeth and the projections 7 as narrow tongues with small holes 10 through which a wire may be threaded.
