Abstract
744,160. Automatic speed control systems. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS, GES. July 17, 1953 [July 17, 1952; Dec. 1, 1952], No. 19886/53. Class 38 (4). [Also in Group XXXVII] A three-phase induction motor 1 for driving a hoist is coupled to an electromagneticallyreleased disc brake 5 which is capable of slipping, the brake being fully released when a switch 7 is positioned to energize the brake coil 5 from the mains R, S, T, through a transformer 9 and rectifier 8. The brake coil is energized through a transformer 11 and rectifier 10 from the sliprings of the motor when the switch 7 is in its alternative position, so that the braking-force increases or decreases in accordance with the speed of the motor. The energizing current of the brake is adjusted by a regulating resistor 13, the motor speed being maintained at a value dependent upon the setting of this resistor.
