Abstract

743,189. Resilient heels. PURALI, Ltd., and McLELLAN, M. E. C. Oct. 26, 1953 [Nov. 6, 1952], No. 27933/52. Class 17 (2). A resilient heel construction for a shoe has a heel chamber 6 extending through and above the insole 2 and sole 3 but not through the heel top piece 7. A flexible leather bearing member 8 is attached to the insole at 9 but is free for vertical movement at the rear and is attached to or supported by a resilient cushion element 11 which may be formed of layers of foam rubber or similar soft resilient material. A resilient pad 10 of greater area than the heel chamber 6 may be interposed between the bearing member 8 and the element 11. The heel shown is formed of leather lifts but it may be formed of a solid block of rubber.
