743,089. Seats; upholstery. LEA BRIDGE INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Aug. 23, 1954 [Sept. 7, 1953], No. 24672/53. Classes 52(2) and 52(4). An upholstered chair with a wooden base A and frame of tubular metal consisting of side frames joined by cross rails has a bulged formation such as a head-rest 16 formed by pleating the outer covering 11 on a line lying across the general direction of tension when in use, the material 13 of the pleat 12 being tucked into the padding and anchored to a rear frame element 9 by tension springs 15 attached to eyelets 14 inserted at each side of the folded material. The arrangement may also be applied to arm rests 17 or a back-of-the-knee bulge 18.
