Class 143 In a skip conveyer installation, e.g. in mines, ' the skips 9 are charged with measured weights of material by measuring bins 1 or belt loading installations supported on pressure responsive devices 5, 6, 7. In the coal shaft double skip conveyer system as shown each skip 9 automatically opens the discharge gate 2 of the associated bin 1 or belt loader. A change-over member 4 is operated to supply the feed from the belt 8 alternately to opposite side by side bins or belt loaders, on the predetermined weight being reached. If the other bin or belt loader is not empty or unloaded and with its discharge gate closed the belt 8 is temporarily stopped. The pressure responsive devices 5, 6, 7 form a three point bearing for each bin or belt loading frame. The quantities weighed out may be recorded.
