Abstract
742,006. Microphones. BRITISH BROADCASTING CORPORATION. May 27, 1954 [March 25, 1953], No. 8315/53. Class 40 (4). The cover of a magnetic microphone is inwardly dished towards the vibratory element so as to present a reflecting surface which is closer to the element than it would otherwise be. As shown, the cover 15 of a moving-ribbon microphone is dished at 17 towards the ribbon 21. To reduce undesired effects caused by acoustic reflection from the magnet 19, a reflector 22 is provided.
