Abstract

[Also in Group X] A clamp for connecting the slotted flanges of adjacent metal shuttering panels is U-shaped and has two toes 30 on the ends of the legs of the U which engage the registering slots of adjacent panels from opposite sides of the flanges which are gripped between the toes and a plate 34 which engages the flanges by a groove 36. Through the base of the clamp passes a screw 24 for clamping the plate 34 on the flanges. The ends of the toes are bent inwards are engaged with the slots by a rotary movement and engage both sides of the slots to prevent relative lengthwise movement of the flanges. Crossing grooves 36 on the plate 34 allow the plate to be used where the panels join at the corners. The clamps are also used to clamp panels to soldiers. The shuttering illustrated comprises walings and clamps as described in Specification 741,765.
