828,609. Scaffolding. BRITISH BUILDING & ENGINEERING APPLIANCES Ltd, July 16, 1956 [July 14, 1955], No. 20442/55. Class 20(2) A scaffold tube 12 is secured in the corner defined by the junction or crossing of two further scaffold members 10, 11 by means of a cradle having one part 16 articulated to the member 10 and movable in a plane parallel to the members 10, 11 from an open position, shown in chain lines, wherein the tube 12 can be introduced into the corner defined by the members 10, 11, to a position wherein it spans the corner and co-operates with a part 14 of the cradle fixed to the member 11, the parts 14, 16 being apertured to receive a wedge 27 which when driven home forces the part 16 against the member 12 which is thereby clamped against the members 10, 11. The cradle part 16 has a portion 18 of concave form, which in the open position of the part 16, provides a ledge on which the member 12 can be laid preparatory to closing the cradle member. The wedge 27 is captive with respect to either the fixed or the movable part of the cradle.
