Abstract

741,016. Drawing boards. DARGUE, BROS., Ltd. Oct. 15, 1954 [July 18, 1953], No. 19990/53. Class 11 A straight edge 9 for a drawing board 1 is provided with one or more balance weights 7, slidably mounted on rods 5 secured to the board by bracket 3 so as to be substantially parallel to the plane of the board in any position of the board. The straight edge 9 is provided with pinnions at each end running in racks and is slidably engaged by a cord 19, attached, by means of a tension spring to one of the weights 7. The cords 19 run over pulleys 21 at each end of the board 1 and are provided with stops 33 so that when the board is horizontal the straight edge may be freely positioned, but when the board is tilted the stop 33 engages the straight edge so that the weight thereof is counterbalanced.
