Abstract

746,740. Hurdles. AKTIESELSKAPET IFA STALRORMOBELFABRIK. Dec. 14, 1954 [Dec. 23, 1953], No. 36186/54. Class 45. In a hurdle comprising a lower portion having feet 5 in which slide weights 8, and an upper portion which is vertically adjustable relative to the lower portion, each weight is connected by ropes or the like to the upper and lower ends of a side tube 1 of the upper portion so that the weights are positively moved by'upward and downward movement of the upper portion. A rope 11 connected to one end of a weight passes around pulleys 12 then upwardly through a tube 4 of the lower portion and a tube 1 to be attached to the upper end of a tube 1. A rope 10 connected at the other end of a weight passes around the pulley 12 at the junction of a tube 4 and a foot 5 to a pulley 12<SP>1</SP> at the upper end of a tube 4 and is attached to the lower end of a tube 1 at X. The bridge 3 of the upper portion is multi-coloured, and the upper portion is held in position by spring-pressed pins 7 which each engage one of a series of holes in a tube 4.
