A slider for slide fasteners includes a slider body comprising a pair of overlying spacedapart wing portions 2, 3 connected at one end by a neck portion 4 providing a substantially Y - shaped fastener - element guide channel 6 therebetween, one of the wings 2 having an aperture 7 therein, substantially centrally thereof, a pair of pull-tab retaining lugs 8 arranged at opposite sides of the aperture, a locking pull-tab member 10 hingedly connected to the slider body comprising a plate-like member having a locking portion 12 at one end adapted to project through the aperture 7 into the guide channel 6, and a pair of opposed trunnion portions 13 extending inwardly and transversely and disposed beneath the lugs 8, and means arranged integral with the lugs 8 and bridging the aperture 7 at a point directly opposite the locking portion, whereby the latter is adapted to be supported and protected against deformation upon application of destructive pressure to the locking portion and the pull-tab. As shown, the means bridging the aperture between the lugs 8 consists of a barlike portion 9 which together with the lugs 8, is struck up from the wing 2.
