Abstract

739,973. Stays for hinged articles. FORD MOTOR CO., Ltd. April 9, 1954 [April 21, 1953], No. 10546/54. Class 65(1). A checking and holding device for vehicle doors comprises an arm 32 pivoted at 34 to one member and sliding between a pair of rollers 66, 72 supported between a pair of brackets 52 on the other member, one roller 72 being mounted for movement towards and away from the other in slots 58 in the brackets and being pressed against the arm by a spring 76 surrounding parts of the brackets. In the form shown the spring bears on the pin carrying the roller 72 and on a member 78 removably mounted in slots in the ends of the brackets. The arm 32 has a holding notch at the end to engage the roller 66, the notch being formed with a checking incline 40.
