Abstract

<PICT:0739108/IV (c)/1> In apparatus for treating webs or sheets of material 1 with gaseous fluids and having blowing nozzles 2, 3 separated by discharge channels 2a, 3a, in which are located conveyer rollers 4, 5, 6 for the material, the rollers are perforated and of such a diameter that they occupy substantially the whole of the cross-section of the channel in which they are located. The rollers comprise end plates 7 connected by rods 9 or rims 12 joined to the shaft by arms 13 and connected by strips 15 or by V-form strips 16. In a further modification (Fig. 4) the roller has end plates 18 mounted on a shaft 19, the envelope of the roller being formed of <PICT:0739108/IV (c)/2> lattice work 20 supported on re-inforcing discs 21. Alternatively the roller has an envelope 25 of perforated sheet metal. Suction may be applied to the ends of the rollers.
