Abstract

738,944. Rectilinear-motion bearings. WIND. SHIELDS OF WORCESTER, Ltd. Aug. 24, 1954 [Nov. 9, 1953], No. 30910/53. Class 12 (1). A rectilinear-motion bearing, for a slidable seat guide, comprises a channel 2 having inturned portions 4 at opposite sides separated by a slot 5 which receives a co-operating member 1 provided with lateral flanges 8, 9 extending in opposite directions at different levels. Balls 10, or rollers, are disposed between the flange 9 and bottom 3 of the channel and between the flange 8 and an inturned portion 4 of the channel 2. The member 1 comprises two identical plates 6, 7 secured back to back each having an upper flange 9 at one end and a lower flange 8 at the other end, as shown in Fig. 3. Either member may be used as the slide or runner.
