[Also in Group V] A decorative foil is bonded under heat and pressure to the surface of a non-planar plastic article. The foil is first shaped by a moulding process to the contour of the article to be decorated. The foil is made of synthetic or natural textile materials impregnated with phenol-, urea- or melamine-formaldehyde resin. Alternatively it may consist of strips of wood veneer woven or plaited together and impregnated.
