In a wick and cap assembly for a vapour diffuser of the type comprising a bottle or other container, a wick or other capillary member extending within the bottles and withdrawable in part through the mouth of the bottle, and a cap or closure means, the wick is secured to a support of a plastic material, e.g. polyvinyl chloride and polyethylene, having at one end means integral therewith to secure the support directly to the cap. As shown in Figs. 1, 2 the support comprises an elongated substantially rectangular strip of plastic material 4 having substantially rectangular slots 5, 6 adjacent the upper and lower ends through the upper of which the wick 7 extends at a point intermediate its length so that the two limbs thereof extend downward on either side and are stapled together through the slot 6 with one limb extending beyond the lower end of the support. Extending from the upper end of the strip is a neck 12 with a circular disc 13 attached of such diameter that it may be forced past the threads of the screw cap 3 normally held on the externally threaded neck 2 of the bottle to secure it thereto. In a modification shown in Fig. 5 the neck portion 12 extends through the cap and terminates in a head 15 which in conjunction with a disc 13 of less than the minimum diameter of the threads of the cap secures the support thereto.
