737,707. Mineral-mining apparatus. JOYSULLIVAN, Ltd., and SMITH, W. M. April 9, 1954 [April 16, 1953], No. 10461/53. Class 68(1). Positioned behind and secured integrally with a pilot drill 10 to form a rotary cutter head of a mineral-mining machine are two groups 13, 15 of circumferentially-spaced, radially-extending, cutter-carrying arms, and the free ends of the rearmost group of arms 15 are secured to cutter-carrying, arcuate arms or a ring 61. The arms of the group 13 are positioned ahead of, register centrally between, and are of shorter radial length than the arms of group 15, whilst the pilot drill comprises cutters 12 mounted in the tapered, spirally fluted end of a shank.
