Abstract

Magnesium chloride cement containing porous fillers is produced by first treating the porous filler with a fatty or bituminous liquid, a liquid artificial resin, a wax or a technical wax-like material, and then combining it with magnesia and magnesium chloride lye to form the cement. Greater strength is obtained if the magnesia powder is first mixed with the magnesium chloride lye and then the treated filler particles added. The composition may be used for the preparation of floors, building blocks, and artificial stones.
