Abstract

737,214. Toy electric railways. TRIX, Ltd, Jan 29, 1954 [April 22, 1953], No. 11040/53. Class 132(3). [Also in Group XXXVII] A toy electric railway system in which signals, points and other devices are controlled from remote change-over switches also includes a stop section switch incorporating a resistance, and the operating members of the change-over switches are coupled to the operating member of the stop section switch. As shown, part of a toy railway in which switches A, B, C (see Group XXXVII) control points 40, stop section 35 and signal 39 have their contact posts 9, 23 coupled by a member 34. When the switches A, C are positioned such that the signal 39 is at "danger" and the points 40 are in the wrong position, the switch B is positioned so that a resistance in the form of a bulb, which may be viewed through a window 21, is in the circuit of the stop section 35, reducing the power thereto and causing the train to stop when it enters the section. On operating the switches A, C to give " all clear" on the signal and to change the points, the switch B is simultaneously operated to cause the bulb to be short circuited out of the supply circuit to the stop section 35 and the train can again move forward.
