Abstract
970,105. Model railways. W. H. MULLER, [trading as SCHRYER & CO. SCHUCOSPIELWARENFABRIK]. Dec. 4, 1962 [Dec. 5, 1961], No. 45717/62. Heading A6S. Electrically operated switch-points for monorail tracks comprise a flexible plastic switchpoint tongue-piece 6 which is integral with a straight track section 7 and carries the conductor rails thereon. Extra flexibility is obtained by deeply slotting, in staggered relation, each side of the plastic tongue 6. The switching of the tongue is effected by a bell-crank 12 mounted beneath the baseboard 1, the said bellcrank 12 being pivoted at 10 and connected to the tongue at 13 through an arcuate slot 14 in the baseboard. Completion of an electric circuit at contacts 3 causes a motor 2 to move the bellcrank through gear 18, crown-wheel 19 and gear 16 thereon, which latter gear 16 meshes with the teeth on the arm 15 of the bell-crank 12. A friction coupling 23 between the crown-wheel 19 and the gear 16 causes the drive to slip when the points are finally in line.
