Abstract
736,480. Locking nuts &c. ILLINOIS TOOL WORKS. Oct. 27, 1953 [Jan. 12, 1953], No. 29715/53. Class 89(1). A lock washer 14, Fig. 2, comprises an annular body with circumferentially - extending fingers 36, Fig. 3, displaced axially from the body, and having teeth 40, 42 projecting further axially at their free ends and concave edges 46 between the teeth. The body may be dished to form an inner flange 24, a frustoconical part 22 and an outer flange 26 from which the fingers are struck. The washer may be assembled on a nut or screw 10, and has a notched hole 28 engaging a splined part 30 of the screw shank, the lower end of part 30 being deformed to hold the washer captive.
