Abstract

736,298. Automatic feed-weighing systems. SCHENCK MASCHINENFABRIK GES., C. Jan. 21, 1952, No. 1688/52. Class 38 (4). [Also in Groups XXXVII and XXXVIII] In a conveyer-belt weighing-machine the belt is driven by a Ward-Leonard set M, G, in which the generator field 9 is set by a rheostat 14, to give the required rate and the motor field is controlled by deflections of the weighbeam to maintain the set rate of feed per unit time. The motor field regulator (operated by the weigh-beam) comprises a rotary multicontact switch (see Group XXXVII and Fig. 2, not shown) connected to a tapped resistance. Indication of the delivery rate may be given by a voltmeter 17 or integrating meter 18 connected across the motor armature or energized through a rheostat 16 ganged to the generator field " rate-setting " rheostat.
