Abstract

735,659. Portable containers; oil cans. LOVELL, G. E., LOVELL, K. J., and LOVELL, D. J. Jan. 19, 1954 [Jan. 19, 1953; July 14, 1953], Nos. 1531/53 and 19489/53. Classes 18 and 66. A device for dispensing powders or liquids comprises a container 7, Fig. 2, having at least part of its wall flexible, with a delivery pipe 10 and a dip pipe 12 either or both of which are formed of flexible material to permit the contents to be dispensed in any direction while permitting substantially complete emptying of the container As shown the dip pipe 12 is flexible and its free end is weighted at 15 to ensure that the dip pipe is always immersed in the contents.. The weight 15 may be associated with a filter. The container may be resiliently flexible, e.g. of polythene or may have a rigid body with a flexible base portion. A spring-pressed ball or other valve may be provided for the delivery pipe whose nozzle may be of small enough dimensions to enter wood-worm bore-holes.
