735,560. Gas burners. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP DE BATAAFSCHE PETROLEUM MAATSCHAPPIJ. May 28, 1952 [May 30, 1951], No. 15057/54. Divided out of 735,519. Class 75 (1). A gas burner has an elongated burner head having a plurality of flame discharge orifices arranged in two sets disposed longitudinally thereof, each set comprising a plurality of mutually inclined orifices so arranged that the discharge axis of an orifice is inclined with respect to one or more of the discharge axes of adjacent orifices and the spacing of the orifices is such as to promote flame stabilizing whirls between adjacent burning jets, and all the orifices of a set are inclined outwardly with respect to the orifices of the other set and to the burner head. The two sets of flame discharge orifices 22 are each formed in two parallel rows by disposing in each of two gaps between outwardly inclined walls 17, 18 of the burner head 16 and the adjacent sides 20, 21 of an angle member 19, a bar 23 on which is wound a wire 24 of circular or triangular section. The axes of the orifices 22 in each row are parallel, but in each set the axes of the orifices of one row are inclined to those of the other row.
