Abstract

Compound phosphate fertilizers containing 30 per cent to 60 per cent of their P2O5 content in water-soluble form are prepared by adding at some stage subsequent to the ammoniation in the process described in Specifications 697,019 or 702,860, a quantity of water-soluble phosphate sufficient to give the desired portion of water-soluble P2O5. The water-soluble phosphate may be added for instance in the form of ammonium phosphate together with ammonium sulphate and muriate of potash. According to a typical example Morocco phosphate was reacted in a plant and under operating conditions as described in Specification 697,019, with nitric acid solution of 50 per cent strength, and the products reacted with aqueous ammonia followed by the addition of ammonium sulphate. After this, material recycled from the final step of the process was added to the mass together with a concentrated mixed fertilizer containing 12 per cent of water-soluble P2O5, 12 per cent of N2 and 15 per cent of K2O. Of the total citric soluble P2O5, 50 per cent was water-soluble.ALSO:Compound phosphate fertilizers containing 30 to 60 per cent of their P2O5 content in water-soluble form are prepared by adding at some stage subsequent to the ammoniation in the process described in Specification 697,019 or 702,860, a quantity of water-soluble phosphate sufficient to give the desired portion of water-soluble P2O5.
