Abstract
734,635. Filtering liquids. MULLER, J. May 27, 1953 [Nov. 27, 1952], No. 14806/53. Class 46. [Also in Groups XXVII and XXVIII] A filter suitable for liquids comprises a block of superposed coaxial imperforate annular discs 4 between which are located concentrically arranged helical metal wire coils 5 the closeness of the turns of which increase in the direction of filtering, and the blocks being housed in a cap 9 seated on and releasably secured to a circular plate 3 fixed to a central apertured tube 1. The cap 9 is spaced from the filter block to form a dirt-laden liquid inlet 11 and distribution chamber 12 from which liquid passes over disc flanges 8 between the turns of the coils 5 to an outlet provided by the tube 1. The discs 4 are threaded loosely on rods 6 of length greater than the height of the assembled flanged discs to allow access of washing liquids.
