Abstract
734,177. Collapsible camera. KODAK AKT.-GES. Dec. 11, 1953 [Dec. 11, 1952], No. 34605/53. Class 98 (1). A collapsible camera comprises a tubular lens carrier 9 (which, as shown, has a rectangular cross-section) which slides in a tubular housing 7, being guided therein by keys 20 which engage in keyways 19 spaced round the housing 7 and lens carrier 9 respectively, and a cover 14, pivoted at 17 and connected to the lens carrier by two pins 15 carried by lugs 13, which pins engage in cam slots 16 in the lens carrier so that the cover is opened as the lens comes forward into its operative position. The lens carrier is urged forward into its operative position by compression springs (not shown) connected between the lens carrier and the back 5a of the exposure chamber, and is held in that position by spring studs 27, which engage the outer rim of the housing 7. The cover 14 is held in its closed position over the lens by a sprung bar 36, which carries a catch to engage a lug on the edge of the cover, which edge lies in the groove 32 in the closed position. A supplementary lightexcluding device such as bellows or telescoping tubes may be fitted between the lens carrier and the back of the camera, inside the housing 7.
