727,521. Optical - projection apparatus. F. R. CORPORATION. Jan. 22, 1953, No. 1862/53. Class 97 (1). A slide projector comprises a slide track between light source and projection lens, feed and receiving chambers for slides on opposite sides of the axis, a reciprocable pusher plate in the track, resilient means in the feed chamber to urge the next slide into the track and means on the pusher plate to engage the next slide only and separate it from the remaining slides. In one form slidable magazines are spring- urged rearwardly to engage the rearmost slide in each against a plate in which a projection aperture is formed and which is also formed with guides for rebated portions 73 of a plate 70 having an extension 74 carrying an operating piece 76 outside the projector casing. The plate has a flange 80 at one end and has secured at 84 a spring plate 82 bent rearwardly at its edge 86. By pulling the plate into alignment with the slides in the feed magazine the flange 80 is engaged behind the edge of the rearmost slide which can thereby be pushed across into the exposure aperture, a wedge shaped portion 78 on the extension 74 urging the remaining slides out of contact with the moving slide. The end 86 of the spring plate 82 pushes any slide already at the projection aperture into the receiving magazine. As the plate is retracted to uncover the projection aperture the slide at the aperture is retained there by a spring frame.
