Abstract

733,303. Feeding hooks. SELBACH, O. Dec. 5, 1953, No. 33899/53. Class 78 (1). A workpiece feeding apparatus for workpieces having unlike ends, comprises a reciprocating slide 2, a rail 14 which supplies hooks to said slide, locking and release means 17 for releasing the hooks successively down the rail, an aligning member 7 having a curved face which orients the hooks fed by the slide so that they fall aligned down opening 11. As shown, slide 2 is reciprocated against the action of spring 6, and as the slide moves leftwards it contacts bar 23 to rotate eccentric 17 which displaces pins 18, 19 against springs 22 so as to allow an eyescrew to fall on to the top of said slide 2. At the same time, slide 2 pushes forward the previous eye-screw till the latter engages aligning member 7 and rides up or down on the curved surfaces thereof, slide 2 engaging the aligning member to press the latter back against a spring so as to expose opening 11 down which the eyescrew drops. When the slide returns the first-mentioned eyescrew drops off the top of the slide into a position to be engaged at the next movement forward.
